Well, I am sure the select few of you who visit this site are wondering, exactly why is it taking so long for Kaleb to get his portfolio up, and why does the site keep getting delayed from its initial release date? Well the honest truth is, I have been beyond busy at this time. I have been trying to get a steady income in. I constantly say to myself, “Kaleb, this portfolio can grant you the opportunities you seek.” And I know that! I have been so busy with school its been ridiculous, and one class particularly. Math class I can live with, E-learning I can live with, but Interactive Motion Graphics is by far the most tedious class I have taken. My goodness! I am not going to fret on it much, I hope to just get my B and forget that class. I now know that avoiding a class was a major mistake. Lesson learned: take all the prerequisites!!

So anyways, I am set on this new deadline for cujo.jp. June 6th, it will be done! Maybe sooner, we can only hope for sooner. Right?

Well it has been a very long time since I have posted a new entry. I will keep this updated for now on. Have been a very lazy person. In mid Febuary I slipped on ice, I thought it was nothing too serious, went to the clinic I always go to and there was nothing too bad they said. Just a bad sprain. Told me to stay on my crutches for a couple weeks and I will be all fine and dandy (yes, dandy).

Couple day’s later I get a call back from the clinic I went to, telling me to not walk on my ankle. Apparently I broke a bone in my ankle, and I will need to go to a hospital for x-rays and a CT scan, which was a major bummer. It was looking pretty bad, my ankle was severely swollen after a few days

So I went to Regions Hospital and clinic in Saint Paul, MN for the X-ray’s, and talked to DR about it. Got the X-rays taken and it was ugly. My bones did not break, but separated from where they are supposed to be. I had a massive gap in between my fibula and the ankle bone (talus), so they would need to insert two screws and a plate in my ankle to try to straighten it out. That I found the most depressing of all of it, the inability to walk months after my surgery, with only the assistance of crutches.

So that was on the 11th of February, two months have passed by and now My bones are strong and I am able to walk with a limp, as I can only put about 1/5 of my weight on my ankle.

The Fibula and the Talus’ gap has closed considerably now, it almost looks like a normal ankle (just with 2 screws and a plate in it). However, I will be going in for another follow up around the 14th of this month. I really do hope to be ready and able to go back to full walking and ability to jog before sometime in mid May. That might be pushing it though? Only time will tell.

I will be sure to keep updated on this now. I have never been much of a blogger, but ya know. There needs to be change as everyone is saying now. So I should change too and blog more often! Besides, why shouldn’t I?

Ok its 2AM and im still up? I am trying to figure out exactly, why am I still up? I assume its because I tried to go to sleep at 7:30, thinking I will sleep through the entire night. No, totally wrong. What was I thinking? Was I at all, why wasn’t I working on the few things I need to get finished? Oh well.

On another note, I started reading Stephen Colberts book, and I must say, I connected with it really well. There is a line in there that says that he hates to read and dint write the book, but dictated. And that if I am reading the book, i too must hate reading and that it is probably the first book I have ever tried to read. Speaks the truth, I hate reading books, and indeed it is the first book I started to read on my free time that wasn’t some Text book about following the grid, or why PHP needs a semicolon after every line and ActionScript doesn’t; although you can put a semi-colon at the end of every line, wow there I go again. Anyways, so far I am really liking the book and its a nice read.

Oh, finally, I broke my stupid cooling fin, on one of my heat-sinks for my CPU. And its vibrating really loudly. How annoying is that, so I had to order a outrageous heat-sink since I couldn’t find a simple OEM one. Its sad how I already need to upgrade this computer and its only like a year old. I ask a question, “is there any Socket 939 heat-sink out there for my AMD 3200?” And I get reply’s such as “No one uses socket 939 anymore, go to Socket AM2.” How irritating is that? I spent too much money to get a new CPU and Motherboard. I am ranting, oh well.

Going to sleep for school tomorrow, I’m going to bring my camera and get some good random wide angle shots with the new lens i picked up.

I really have no clue what led me to use that pink. I did however want a clean blog with no busyness. Last few months I have always been working on a busy busy website. Don’t get me wrong, I love sites that have a whole lot of content, it makes a site resourceful. However a site needs to have that balance of busyness and cleanliness. So this is my answer, its not busy in any means and is very clean. Which is what i wished to achieve, the pink though, i don’t know about it.
Everyone loves pink though right?

So I wake up bright and shine in the morning, I take a nice morning shower, than like any college student my breakfast was a good ol’ bowl of cereal. When finished I jump right on the computer to work on some code and this site. I really have high expectations for this site. And my new domain I will pick up as well. This site will mainly be just a simple daily blog about me. You know, those cliche things that are popping up left and right. I think its a step in the right direction, beleive it or not, before I blogged on a Myspace! Kill me now.

Came to the conclusion it was a great Content Managment System. It has its limits, but I hope to exceed them. Anyways it will be great to see what a new year has ahead of me. Looks like I have a couple of clientele jobs ahead and it will be a couple of nice jobs to tackle as a designer, and as a coder.
